Someone said that the United States and frivolous, there
are also people who believe that America is the real and cool. But with the
American people, although "frivolous" or "cold", still has
a very beautiful country. It is by here, they always have the courage to say
the words true.
Below is the post share the impression of Michael Levin,
author of the best-selling book by the New York Times poll, posted on the Fox
News page on 15/7. The article content is as follows:
Why I'm proud to be an American?
1. Because we always speak true words
The United States has problems?
Just ask the man lived in Europe this is known.
They will be glad to tell you that we do not how
civilization, that they have delicious dishes and wine where his country, that
the American population to how power, and that we Americans don't know what
holiday ... And what about the Government?
The Government should not ask further.
The question I always set out – and sometimes I still
wonder-is actually very easy to see this:
If everything in America are so bad, then why don't you
go back to your hometown?
Obviously, the critics and criticized unjustly is a type
of European pastime. If a few Americans gathered together, we will also
criticize what this society, but is for some reason is completely different.

2. That is, we want to improve America were better
When it comes to Government, social structure, economy,
infrastructure, ethnic relations, policy, mass transportation, and hundreds of
other things, then the United States is not the perfect clown.
But in this country, we purpose self-criticism is because we want to be
become more perfect.
We are not
extremists, also wasn't too ideal. (Illustrated guide by de.sputniknews.com)
4. Because we do not deliberately concealed the mistakes
of yourself
American history, though it is at good or bad, are all
received an incomplete system of America along with the Alliance not to and
then making it better and more beautiful, more and more powerful.
To be free and respected right from birth is a painful
process, volatile, and should even with blood and tears. But we still can't
stop the step times curious looking towards the light, because we are not
afraid to say so the truth about the dark myself. Like trying to judge Louis
Brandeis once said how far a century: "sunlight is the best
disinfectant stuff".
I am proud to be an American because we dare to frankly
admit very much, which is probably endless, these weaknesses.
And somehow, we persist in search of something better.
We should tell the ugly truth about ourselves, about
community and about his past, not to ban, not to break, that is to find the way
to build it better.
We, as Americans, will sit patiently listen when their
foreign guests recall the embarrassing situation of the country, whether in the
past or the present.

And our response would be the same as what the young
Muhammad Ali answered the Russian Chancellery when they asked him about the
views for that race in America: "the people of my country are shouldering
this".
In the US, I always believed that "the people of
my country" was the whole American people.
In this country, all the individuals who are involved in
the effort to make things better — whether "things" is a family, a
community, a law, a conviction on the other guys, a job, a group of people
stripped of rights, or is the whole country in General.
So let's let the people of Europe, and the rest of the
world, mutual effort to criticize us as they want. By the words they say won't
mean anything.
Our peoples aspire to self-criticism, not from the
establishment, and always make myself better, better, better, and more.
I am proud to be an American, not only because of what
we've accomplished, but also because of a desire to never stop to correct the
mistake rather than cloaking them, deny them, or wish them away.
We've settled on this vast country, but as a nation, we
will not meet with the current condition that stopped not proceed any further.
